Arrival in Krasnoyarsk (Russia).

Upon arrival into Krasnoyarsk (Russia), we will transfer you to your hotel.
You must arrive in Krasnoyarsk (Russia) at least one day before your flight to Khatanga and plan your flight home the day after your return from Khatanga.

Our staff will brief you on the current situation at the ice base Barneo, inform you about departure time to Khatanga, and answer any questions you might have.

12 April - 1st day
Transfer from your hotel to the airport.

Flight from Krasnoyarsk to Khatanga by AN-74 aircraft (approx. flight duration: 3 hrs 30 min).

Accommodation and meal in Khatanga (Hotel Mamont Inn, https://mamontinn.ru/)

At the hotel you will receive the message, when and where our Information meeting will take place. Our staff will brief you on the current situation at the ice base Barneo, inform you about polar flight departure time, and answer any questions you might have.

Excursion to the Museum of Nature and Ethnography at the Taimyr Reserve

Visit to the Folk Art Center, acquaintance with everyday life and crafts of indigenous peoples.

Excursion to the Mammoth Ice Museum.

Night in the hotel
13 April - 2nd day
Flight from Khatanga to Barneo by AN-74 aircraft (approx. flight duration: 5 hrs).

One stop for refueling at Cape Baranova, Severnaya Zemlya archipelago.

Arrival at Barneo, acquaintance with ice base Barneo, located at 89 degree North.
Accommodation will be provided in the heated tents of the Ice Camp (each tent comfortably accommodates 10-12 persons).

MI-8 helicopter takes you to the geographic North Pole at first chance, depending on weather and ice conditions (approx. flight duration: 40 min).

Celebration of the arrival at the North Pole right on spot! You will have about 1 hour at the North Pole.

Return to the ice base Barneo by MI-8 helicopter, approx. flight duration: 40 min.

Full catering during your stay at ice base Barneo.

The North Pole Certificate ceremony at Barneo’s the most Northern Polar Cafe.

Free time on ice in the unexampled close distance to the North Pole.

15 April - 4th day
Breakfast in Khatanga (Hotel Mamont Inn, https://mamontinn.ru/)

Flight from Khatanga to Krasnoyarsk by AN-74 aircraft (approx. flight duration: 3 hrs 30 min).

Transfer to your hotel.

Please note: all charter flights are heavily weather dependent!

Changes and amendments may apply to the program, depending on the weather, ice or other conditions. It is important to consider possible delays or alterations, and take them with patience. We strongly recommend you to acquire insurance against full or partial cancellation of the expedition.

Price does not include:

  • • Any airfares to/from Krasnoyarsk (Russia);

    •  Activities in Krasnoyarsk;

    •  Alcoholic beverages;

    •  Insurance against full or partial cancellation of the expedition, luggage insurance, life insurance (strongly recommended);

    •  All unforeseen costs related to the flight delays;

    •  Souvenirs and postal expenses

    •  Overweight luggage at the cost of 40 Euro/kg.

You should bring your own:

  • • Winter coat and trousers with Thinsulate insulation: 1 set
  • • Thin underwear made of Polycolon (so-called thermal underwear): 1 set
  • • Fleece jacket and trousers made of Polartec 300 or Polartec 200
  • • Thick expedition socks: 2 pairs
  • • Sunglasses 100% UV & IR: 1
  • • Sun protection cream: SPF 40
  • • Hygienic lipstick: SPF 40
  • • Personal medical kit
  • • Expedition footwear: 1 pair
  • • Expedition mittens: 1 pair
  • • Woolen hat with Windstopper membrane: 1

ATTENTION:

We advise you optional basic polar expedition clothes kit, but everyone endures cold differently. Therefore, if you have some items in your wardrobe, which are tested in cold environment and suit you, you are welcome to bring them.
